Within the international exhibition CeBIT we watched the section of ITS where were presented demonstrations of use TPEG technology which allows merging of information from different sources and distribution via digital channels such as Internet, mobile phones and other wireless networks.

Fraunhofer FIRST presented TPEG service implementation of DECODER KIT in mobile devices Android there. The whole system is based on a software package which can receive, decode and analyze information with minimal memory requirements, and provides information to other applications (e.g., the navigation services).

As last year, Bayerische Medien Technik  presented their research findings and running TPEG ON AIR. This system has been already used for broadcasting on headquarters in Lower Saxony.

These presentations indicate the expanding of the transition to new protocols and new transmission environment, to be able to provide faster and better information to drivers about traffic conditions (for more information about the TPEG project see www.tpeg.cz ).
