MultiNet™

is a geographic database focused on automobile navigation.

It was produced by the world-leading supplier of geographic data, company Tele Atlas. Central European Data Agency is an authorized dealer of MultiNet™. As the exclusive partner it is involved in creating this database in the Czech Republic.

MultiNet™ is a highly detailed and accurate seamless vector map of Europe and USA.

The structure of the database, topologicly correct representation of elements in adequate positional accuracy, their attributes and reciprocal relations allow searching targets and explicitly defined movement in the street/road network - navigation.

Except from highly attributed street and road sections the database contains layers of administrative division, functional utilization and area cover (waters, woods, parks, industrial areas, etc.), areas and residence centres and an extensive set of points of interest.

MultiNet™ is regularly updated and extended using the latest devices of geographic data collection including mobile GIS.

MultiNet™ CZ presents only relatively small spatial section of a very extensive database product. It is created on the basis of the same data model and using the same rules when collecting and processing data as the whole MultiNet™. Therefore within the area of the Czech Republic we can expect data comparable with other countries as for quality and detail.

MultiNet™ is standardly supplied in formats Shapefile, GDF AS (sequential) and AR (relational) in the WGS84 reference frame. In case of interest it is possible to transform Multinet Shapefile into other reference frames (e.g. S-42, S-JTSK) or compatible formats.

Areas of utilization: Where a full-value actual and updated geoinformation database is needed, usable not only for automobile navigation but for a whole range of other applications for solving traffic tasks and services based on localization. Passangers and drivers can use the map base to gain information on traffic roads, transport connections, localization of traffic information. It is also used by map portals, maps and applications based on localization in pocket computers, phones or GPS devices of automobile navigation.
