poi_cze.jpg The point of interest database (hotels, car parks, shopping centres, etc.), where each entry includes information about the object (name, type, address, contacts, etc.) and at the same time coordinates of his position in space.
These databases are suitable especially for utilization in LBS (local based services) type applications, i.e. “searching the nearest...”, for solving traffic and navigation problems, they are also applicable in geo-marketing area.
Number of POI
In terms of update (e.g. field survey) new objects are added. In the meantime revision of actual objects is conducted (position specification and attribute update). The points of interest database currently counts almost 72 000 objects.

For example StreetNetCZE POI – the link between POI database and road network of the Czech Republic allows network navigation as far as to the representation of a POI object.
aktualizace.jpg Update
Renewal and update of the database is systematical based on centrally gathered information, locally in the framework of data update for particular towns and by field collection. The database is annually updated by 10% and extended by the same ratio.
