Mobile Mapping

Scanning real visual information of the roads and processing of video-sequences. Full HD cameras. Geo-tagged images.

 Mobile mapping (MoMa)

CEDA offers its own service of Mobile mapping – i.e. the method of scanning real visual information of the roads (or other objects of a linear characteristic) in an adequate quality, flexible configuration of visual and positional scanners and with relatively low purchase costs.

Basic data

Reference frame: JPG geotag (+ ESRI Shapefile)
Data format: WGS 1984  | S-JTSK
Map basis scale: 1: 5 000 - 1: 10 000
Position accuracy: 1-5 m (according to the used equipment)
Coverage: CZE | SVK

How does the MoMa work?

The video-sequences are taken from a mobile carrier of the device (car, railway vehicle) by full HD cameras. The scanning is synchronized with GNSS stations and subsequently the photos are extracted in an optional interval (usually 5m), the data about position, direction of scanning and accuracy of the GNSS station are matched to them. Geo-tagged photos could be downloaded or converted using GIS tools (e.g. ArcGIS 10.1).

the MoMa outputs applicability

Outputs from the Mobile mapping can be used in many areas – e.g.:

  • when monitoring traffic signs, advertisement signs, and many other components of road network
  • for setting plan of maintenance of green spaces in the city
  • it can also be applied as one of the materials for anti-accident measures in dangerous areas
  • etc.
